Program in Mathematics Education (PRIME)

Welcome to the Michigan State University (MSU) Program in Mathematics Education (PRIME) website! PRIME houses the Mathematics Education Doctoral Program, which provides a Ph.D. for scholars, teachers and students seeking to understand and improve the teaching and learning of mathematics. The doctoral program is administered jointly by the College of Natural Science and the College of Education, with the College of Natural Science as the lead college. Graduate students are awarded many opportunities and fellowships through both colleges. PRIME is also the home for several mathematics education faculty members, staff and administrators for the Mathematics Education Doctoral Program.

We have information for prospective and current students on our site, as well as for faculty and friends of mathematics education. Read about our vibrant community here at MSU, including the PRIME Graduate Student Organization (GSO), ongoing research projects, and exciting events in mathematics education.
