2025 Math Ed Research Sharing Session

The annual Mathematics Education Research Sharing Session for 2025 was held on November 6 in the STEM Building from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Since Fall 2022, the Math Ed Research Sharing Session has provided an informal sharing of new or ongoing research work and projects, or ideas for future proposals with perhaps some constructive input and suggestions from peers and faculty members. We are grateful that as a mathematics education research community we could continue to offer this annual Fall session. The idea for such a session originated at the request of PRIME doctoral students to learn more about the math ed research being conducted at MSU.

Over 20 were in attendance from the math ed community at MSU. Three presentation time slots, each consisting of 5 or 6 groups or individuals presenting their work, occurred throughout the afternoon.

This year, as an addition based on previous feedback, presenters gave a 60-second lightning speech summary at the beginning of each time slot of their work to be shared. This helped create a quick stage for the audience before starting to engage more deeply with the individual or team that was sharing within the session.

PRIME Director Vince Melfi provided brief welcoming and closing remarks (see photo below).
