PRIME is delighted to welcome two new outstanding mathematics education doctoral students this fall: Claire Lambert and Sabrina Zarza.

Beth Herbel-Eisenmann, mathematics education faculty member and Professor from the Department of Teacher Education (TE) at MSU, has been named Director of the Program in Mathematics Education (PRIME) and the Mathematics Education Graduate Program Director.

Michigan State University Professor Aman Yadav, known for his research and outreach on computer science education and computational thinking, has been named Lappan-Phillips Professor of Computing Education at MSU.

Kristen Bieda and Corey Drake, MSU Math Ed Faculty members, will be presenting their research at the upcoming American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting.

Richard "Abe" Edwards has received the 2022 Distinguished Teaching Award of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), Michigan section.

Sarah Castle, Jihye Hwang, and Merve Kursav, PRIME mathematics education doctoral students, have been awarded the Dr. Marilyn Zweng Endowed Graduate Student Award in Mathematics Education.

Robert E. Floden, University Distinguished Professor, dean emeritus of the College of Education, and mathematics education faculty member, has been named the honoree for the 2022 AACTE David G. Imig Award for Distinguished Achievement in Teacher Education.

Oyemolade (Molade) Osibodu, Spring 2020 graduate of the PRIME mathematics education doctoral program, is a 2021 recipient of the Pat Clifford Award.

Sarah Castle will be presenting her work in SEISMIC on Monday, November 15th, 12:00-1:00 pm. Her talk is titled “A Multi-Institutional Analysis of Systematic Advantages in Introductory STEM Courses”. 

Timothy S. Wegner will be defending his dissertation, titled Students' Tool Usage, Justifications, and Reported Confidence When Using Dynamic Geometry Environments on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 3:00 pm in 310 Erickson.

MSU invites applications for a tenure system Assistant Professor faculty position focusing on post-secondary Mathematics or Statistics Education.

Several MSU mathematics education doctoral students and faculty members will be presenting later this week at the 43rd Annual Meeting of the North American Chapter of the International Group for the Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME-NA 43).
